"For over 30 years, the One of a Kind Show has been helping artists and artisans from across the country to make a living out of their passion. We are not alone in our endeavors – this section celebrates the organizations of the Canadian art and craft community, who work together to foster talents, grant opportunities, and increase exposure of the uniquely talented artists and artisans working today."
- One of Kind Show Application Brief

Sponsored by the One of a Kind Show (OOAK), working in collaboration with the OCC and other arts organizations, this award is dedicated to aiding emerging artists in the launch of their careers. The award winner will receive a cash grant and a dedicated booth alongside nominees from four other arts and culture organizations in the new spotlight zone at following Spring show– "The Craft Community of Canada Section".
HOW DOES THIS WORK?
Each year the OCC chooses one artist to put forward as our nomination to the OOAK Craft Community of Canada section. One of a Kind collects the nominations from all the participating arts organizations/institutions and then in a seperate jurying process decides which nominees will be included in the section. The OCC cannot ensure the placement of our nominee - it is up to the OOAK's jury.
To be considered for nomination by the OCC to the One of a Kind Craft Community of Canada, complete and submit an OCC Awards & Scholarships Standard Application and check the box at the bottom indicating your interest. You must submit all the required materials for a standard application. As always you can apply for as many awards as you like, or just indicate your interest in this one program. Submit this application by the OCC's Awards & Scholarships deadline. Our jury sits near the end of April and alongside their usual deliberations for the other awards and scholarships, will additionally consider all those who have indicated interest in this program. From this pool they will choose one nominee who will be informed of their nomination along with all of the other award recipientsl.
The chosen nominee then must complete the One of a Kind's application package, including booth layout sketches, product line information and lots of other details. This is due usually by end of September - OCC award staff will help you through this process.
